The next one name sensation

When I say professional recording artist, what is the first thing that comes to mind? You probably thought about a singer like Rhianna or Beyonce. However, to me it means something different. I like to tell my friends I am a professional recording artist because I do a lot of the professional recordings here at AccessDirect. We offer several voice options as well as instructions if you wish to record yourself.

I have noticed that recording a greeting for the first time seems to be the most difficult part of using our service. Lucky for you, that is where I come in. But if you still would like to record it yourself, here are a few helpful hints to make sure your greeting sounds like a professionally recorded greeting.

• Plan out exactly what you want the greeting to say, write it down or type it up so you know you have it perfect.
• Read your greeting out loud a few times before you record it to make sure it flows off of your tongue with no snags
• When you record it use a towel (a washcloth works the best) to help filter out background sounds
• Make sure you listen to your recording to make sure you like the way it sounds. If you don’t like it, keep recording it until you do or have one of our professional recording artists record it for you.
• Lastly and most important, make sure you save your greeting.

Your greeting is the most influential part of your entire programming. It is the first impression your customers receive about your company; make it count.

Technology's hold on man

If you have been following my blog you already know my favorite feature is the fax to email and you also know that our system works with Smartphones such as the Blackberry, the iPhone, and the Palm Pre. But did you know that our system has a bunch of fancy features that work will all phones and other features that work will all cell phones?

I know you have been out somewhere and seen the gaggle of teenage girls texting on their cell phones. That sight is proof that cell phones are for more than just having a verbal conversation with someone. You too can feel like part of the “in crowd” by getting text messages to your cell phone when you get a new voicemail. You never need to be out of communication with your hosted pbx.

Another feature that we offer, and it works with any phone, copper land line or cell, is the voice call back also known as voice notification. The way this works is when someone calls and leaves you a message, the system will call you on the specified number and give you a chance to listen to your message. Now whether you have a fancy smart phone that you can check your email on or not, you can still be notified of your new messages and you don’t need to always be within range of a computer.

Just another example of technology loosening the ties between man and his computer

Disaster Recovery

Yesterday I programmed a disaster recovery program. This program is a great asset for any company to have. It functions as a backup means of communication in case of a disaster such as a tornado, hurricane or any other major disaster that knocks out communication. Since we host the number the client never needs to worry about not being in communication with his or her clients when the phone lines are down or even if the building is destroyed.

The program purchased the company has the ability to record a lengthy informational greeting explaining the situation and also has the ability to take a message which will be emailed to the customer as a .wav file. You might be wondering how the customer plans on getting the email if there has been a disaster which means the internet is probably not functioning. Lucky for the customer we also have the ability to send a text notification and a voice notification alerting the customer of the message. I assume that everyone is familiar with the concept of text messaging (a short message sent to a cell phone in the text form) but you may not be as familiar with the idea of voice notification. Voice notification is when our system places a call to the customer notifying them that they have received a new voicemail and allows them to login to the mailbox and listen to the message immediately.

One of the greatest things about our programs is they are completely customizable. If you want something specific odds are good that we can make that happen for you all while making your business look bigger and more professional.

Hosted Virtual PBX Systems

The kind of installation is what differentiates hosted/virtual PBX systems from traditional premise based phone systems. Hosted PBX systems are not installed at the customer’s premises like the latter ones. The service providers maintain them at their sites itself. Since these devices are implemented in a virtual environment, they are also referred to as virtual PBX systems.

The hosted/virtual PBX systems are more advantageous compared to traditional ones and the benefits include:

• Ease of installation
• No expensive switching equipments required
• Cost of operation is low
• Facilitates easy management
• Greater scalability

A hosted/virtual PBX system has all the features such as auto attendant, virtual receptionist, find me follow me call forwarding, voicemail, fax mail, and so on that are found in a modern phone system. The auto attendant greets the callers with a professional sounding greeting message and then routes the calls to the right person according to the extension selected by the caller.

With a hosted PBX system, it is possible to have a single telephone number for the entire firm even if it has many branches spread over different geographical locations. On the other hand, even if you have no company premises for your small business, you can still receive the same features of a conglomerate phone system through a virtual IP phone system.

In a hosted (virtual) PBX system the extensions are associated with individuals and not any phone. Thus the user can receive calls from anywhere irrespective of his present location. The user can program a list of phone numbers including his cell phone number and residence number, where he will be available, in the virtual PBX systems. The hosted system associates these numbers with the user’s office extension number. Any call to this extension number will be automatically redirected to the alternate phone numbers utilizing the call forwarding facility. In this way the hosted (virtual) PBX systems empower business personnel to operate their business from anywhere.

Since these systems are scalable to a large extent, additional phone lines and extensions can be added as required at a later period. As the hosted phone service is shared among a number of users, the expense involved is also low.

A hosted PBX business phone system is such a communication tool which can be of great help to small industry owners.

Hosted PBX business phone systems come with a number of value-added features including caller ID, auto attendant, find me/follow me call forwarding, call transfer, web based call management, call screening, music on hold, voicemail, fax to email and much more. All these features are delivered to the customers through a dedicated phone or high bandwidth connection.

As they are based on the latest IP technology, hosted business PBX systems can easily meet the growing demands of a flourishing company. Owing to their greater scalability, you need not invest in new hardware as you expand your business. The virtual IP telephone service provider can make available additional lines and extensions at any time, if required.

Through a hosted PBX phone system, SOHO businesses can get toll free and local numbers with the area codes of their favored cities. These virtual numbers can give a global and local presence to large and small businesses without them being actually present in the region. Calls to these numbers will be routed to the right destination by the hosted PBX phone system, irrespective of the recipient’s current location.

The ease of implementation and manageability of a hosted PBX business phone system is worth mentioning. There is no need to purchase or install any expensive switching equipment when choosing this VoIP technology over the traditional one. All the equipments are kept at the service provider’s site itself. The service providers carry out the maintenance and updating work at their premises, so you are relieved of the hassles of constantly upgrading the device. Since the service is distributed among various customers, the cost that comes down to the individual user is minimal. You can avail of hosted IP service by paying just a small monthly service charge.
