Challenge: A customer from Washington State called and said that he had an online hunting store, specializing in bow hunting, and that there were so many people ordering they decided to build a brick and mortar store. He and his father were running the company and their technical person, or product specialist, was located in Los Angeles. The business itself was located in Seattle. He wanted a way for people to call to be able to press an extension which would ring to him, his father, or his technical person to make it seem like they were all in one place. Solution: I gave the caller the choice of toll free numbers to put on his web site. He ended up getting a very nice 855 Vanity Number, which we ordered for him for free! When people call, they have a choice to talk to him or his father for sales, or to get technical support. One extension rings the store, the other the owners’ cell phones, and the technical extension rings the person in Los Angeles. Callers hear a professional auto attendant with choices, and everything seems as though it’s under one roof.’
Results: The toll free number and auto attendant worked out perfectly for the bow hunting store. Whenever the ‘tech guy’ goes on vacation he simply uses AccessDirect’s online web interface and changes the find-me number to his back up person. Someone always answers the store during normal business hours, and the owners can take calls from wherever they are.
